There are many different types of power boat that runabouts to mega catamaran with a vast array of hull shapes, construction materials and propulsion systems. It is referred to as powerboats, motor yachts and super yachts which is typically over 100 feet long. These ocean catamarans share in common that they all have some sort of engine or motor for propulsion instead of harnessing the wind like a sailboat.
